I’m really hoping that we’ll see Rails 1.1.1 arrive within 1-2 weeks of the 1.1 release before we see Rails unfairly characterized as “too risky for the enterprise”.
Rails 1.1 is an amazing release with many new features. It deserves to be called “2.0” given the number of changes.
Unfortunately, it has unresolved bugs that causes some working Rails 1.0 apps from breaking after upgrading to Rails 1.1.
It would be great if 1-2 weeks can be devoted to fixing some of the more important bugs so that a much more polished Rails 1.1.1 can be released shortly.
At a minimum, I’d like to see Rails 1.1.1 fix the 3 bugs found in report 14 (bugs that were marked ‘fd’ by rails core members before 1.1 release):
* http://dev.rubyonrails.org/report/14If possible, I’d like to see some or all of these 7 tickets resolved in Rails 1.1.1:
* http://dev.rubyonrails.org/report/19But most importantly, new bugs introduced by 1.1 which break 1.0 apps should be the primary focus of the bugfix release.
