What can I do for the Rails community to lend a hand?

You’ll hear it time and time again, but if you don’t want to wade in and create/fix/test the source, then please write documentation. High quality documentation helps new people immensely (although there’s often little reward unless you write a book).

Struggled with something and finally worked out how to overcome it?

Document it! – Carefully write it into the wiki and let the whole world benefit from your struggles.

To edit existing documentation, simply click the “Edit” button, and away you go—there’s no login required or anything. (You will need to demonstrate that you’re a human when you save, though. Hopefully you’re also an upstanding community member, even if a new one.)
