iSeries ODBC Driver for Linux (Version #2)

Does anyone know if it is possible to connect to IBM iSeries from Rails? It looks like there is a Linux driver available.

This could possibly work in combination with unixODBC and if there is a ODBC adapter for Rails. Currently, there isn’t one.
